Can you wear pantyhose with sandals?????

I'm going to the event where I have to wear some elegant dress. I want to wear silver sandals, but it's cold outside so my question is: If I wear some nice elegant pantyhose /black and silver combination/ can I wear sandals??? Everybody is telling me that it's ''prohibited'' to wear pantyhose in such a case...

Can you wear pantyhose with sandals?????
You're better off wearing a sheer tone that matches your legs, may be just a hint darker, but it's still better than bare.

Pantyhose looks classier and guys really do dig it. You'll notice that most of the objection is coming from other ladies
Reply:My first reaction is no- if you are going out and it's cold don't wear open toe shoes.

But seriously if you wear a coat to go from the car to the party, once your inside your not going to be cold- so don't worry about the hose. Go get a pedicure and wear your kicka$$ sandals ;o)
Reply:You can... but I wouldn't! Good rule is never wear stockings with an open toe shoe.
Reply:yes u can....pantyhose go with everything
Reply:Go for it! I *love* the look of pantyhose with sandals - very sexy!
Reply:I think panty hose with sandals is just fine. Get sandal-toe hose (that is why they have these) and NUDE only!!!! Your legs will look great and very sexy...
Reply:Yah, it does not look good.
Reply:Only if you are 70!
Reply:You could always cut the toe off and stick it to the strap of the shoes but that only works if you have skin colour tights.
Reply:Listen to your friends...big NoNo!

You will only be cold when you are outside...tough it out or change your shoes.
Reply:Some people do but I dont think it looks to good
Reply:Opaque tights worn with peep toes is the only time this combo works,in my opinion. If you think you will be cold you could wear Spanx (footless pantyhose) under your gown.Your legs will be covered and the sandals will look much more attractive!

There is no point in wearing a glamorous dress only to have everyone who looks at you distracted by your footwear!

Hope this helps.
Reply:You could do it if you wear ultra ultra nude or sheer hose.
Reply:You can, but you shouldn't. You shouldn't wear any type of hose with open-toed shoes. If it's too cold to not wear hose, it's probably too cold for open-toed shoes anyways.
Reply:It's not prohibited. That is why the pantyhose makers have a style with a sandal foot and sheer toe made especially for open-toed shoes. I think it's very sexy to see women's toes covered in nylons.
Reply:Pantyhose are a garment for all occasions, styles, and footwear. Wear your hosiery with pride!
Reply:It's your choice, but sandals and hose do not look good together. Reason being, no matter how much you THINK the seam is going to be hidden underneath your toes, it always works its way up to the top.
Reply:If you find a pair of really fine-net fishnets, that's okay to wear with sandals. (Wolford makes a good one.) This season, more people are wearing opaque tights with sandals or open-toed shoes (look at any current fashion mag). But don't wear sheer nude or sheer black hose, especially if they have a reinforced toe.
Reply:dont do it, never wear pantyhose with a open toe shoe
Reply:Pantyhose don't usually look that good with sandals, which are a very casual look. I would go without myself.
Reply:if you must wear pantyhose, get one that is as sheer as possible and close to your actual skin color. depending on how long your dress is, you might want to try some of the new "footless" variety, they hit just about your ankle. Or I have seen some that are "toeless". where all your toes are exposed. but rest of leg and foot are covered. works great with open toe shoes.
Reply:I know its cold. i tend to brave it because it doesn't really look good. on the other hand what you could do is get some that are skin coloured. try and get one that matches closely to your skin colour. The expensive ones are normally the best, for colour and quality.
Reply:You can wear pantyhose with anything you want to wear them with. Don't worry about 'fashion' - wear what you want to wear and what makes you feel the most comfortable. I wear hosiery with sandals all the time - and I've still not been arrested. Why let 'fashion' dictate you out of comfort and style?
Reply:No, I would say don't wear the pantyhose............It does not look right.....If you really want to wear them I suggest getting some closed heels.
Reply:I agree. Black and silver hose is not the way to go in sandals.

I would wear a nude hose so it won't look like you are wearing anything on your feet with the sandals.

They specifically make the sandal foot hose to be worn with sandals. So you can wear hose with sandals, but I just don't like the look of colored hose with them. But if you do, then wear it. You should never let others dictate your fashion style.
Reply:Yes you can and is becoming more of trend than in the recent past.

The new trend with sandals is the pin-up hosiery look

whereas Vintage RHT nylonstockings or Full fashion stockings are worn with sandal.

Reply:Do wear pantyhose. Besides the warmth, it gives an extra classy "finished" look to your outfit. Do be sure to get "sandal toe" style versus "reinforced toe" so it's not conspicuous.

Despite so many people saying what a taboo it is, it makes so much more sense on a "class" level to go the extra step with the hose to complete the outfit. However, if you want to make that happy medium where fishnets are seen by the otherwise nay-sayers as an acceptable form of hosiery to wear with open-toe shoes, then a pair of sheer nude pantyhose underneath the fishnets is a wonderful option. It serves as extra warmth (the hose/fishnet combo is cozy), it keeps your toes from poking through the fishnet, and it keeps the open weave of the fishnet from giving you "waffle-butt" when it all comes off.
