So I'm going to a club for the first time Saturday night and was just trying to decide what to wear. I was thinking jeans and a cute halter top or something. The club's dress code says:
No athletic wear
No workboots
No hats
No baggy clothes
No jerseys
No torn or ripped clothing
No sandals
No plain white or screen printed t-shirts
No sunglasses
Would "sandals" be like flip-flops and if so why don't they just say that?

I would say anything you would wear to the beach is out.
I went to a club once with sandals and they let me in ONLY because I had a small heel on it so it wasn't really a "sandal"
Reply:Many clubs don't like people wearing flat sandals like flip-flops because your feet can get hurt, on the dance floor (if it is crowded) or from broken glass (from dropped glasses %26amp; beer bottles). That being said, often club dress codes are only enforced for men, while women get away with much more but it depends on the club.

Reply:"Sandals" would certainly include flip-flops and probably include other flat sandals, too. However, if you wore high heeled shoes that were strappy, I'm sure they'd be allowed. (Not that I recommend it with jeans and a halter.)

Can I wear sandals in San Francisco next week or will it be too cold?
hey! goin to SAN FRAN next week and can't wait. Should I pack sandals? Or is it wayyyy too cold for that?

Longer answer:
I think it depends a lot on where you are coming from. Today was a splendid perfect day but I wouldn't have worn sandals because I am from Florida and even perfect days here seem a little chilly to me. Part of the problem with sandals is that this city is all about layers and you can't really layer shoes. A hot afternoon will still be in the high sixties at night. It is windy too. When driving into the city, I always bring a jacket because it always gets colder and if I don't I regret. However, if you are coming from Montreal or Chicago, even low sixties to you might not be a big deal. If you are not prepared for bare toes in 64 degrees and high winds, that's your answer.
Also, if you are not familiar with the Bay Area, be sure you are staying in S.F. Because if you are staying in Oakland or the South Bay (and driving in to S.F.) it gets much warmer. Palo Alto and San Jose get damned hot.

Girls, should guys wear flip flops/sandals in public?
My G/F bought me flip flops so this is the first time I have worn them ever. I like wearing them, very comfortable and I actually want to buy more pairs. I live in the south where it is very hot, so you can wear them all year round, but I was wondering how girls felt about seeing guys feet in public? Also besides flip flops, what kind of sandals are good for men? And my last question is what are the do's and don'ts about wearing them. Of course I keep my feet clean, and I never ever wear socks with sandals, but I have heard girls say flip flops look bad while wearing jeans, is that true?

I don't know what brand to direct you to, but go for something that is comfiest for you. A lot of guys i know where sandals suit for like hiking, i bet that would be cool. Flip flops look perfectly well under jeans, just make sure that they aren't skin tight jeans that squeeze ya bad, or super baggy jeans.

when you go shopping, make sure that the bottom of a flip flop is not to slippery because you can and will fall.

Reply:I understand what you are saying because I went there for my honeymoon but it really is a nice place to get married and there are so many fun things to do there. It definitely would be different and there is ALOT less stress than a traditional wedding. I would go for it.
Check out Sandals Inn, it is much smaller however, it provides a more private ceremony yet at the same time, you can visit all of the other properties too !!

Who makes LAGUNA sandals?
I bought a pair of sandals a few years ago that have LAGUNA printed on them. My dog got a hold of them, so now I am trying to replace them. I tried to find a LAGUNA website, but with no luck - I now think someone else makes these shoes and calls them LAGUNA. Anyone know who makes them? Traveled to a Sandals Resorts?
I am sure somewhere in the vastness of yahoo answers lies someone who has visited a Sandals resort. I am in charge of planning the honeymoon for my fiance and myself. We are looking at St. Lucia in particular.
I would like you to share your experiences. I can read all about the amenities but I really want to know what has been things that have stood out to you from your experience.

I stayed at a Sandals in Jamaica when my son was married there. The rooms were probably a 3 star in American standards, the food was ok and plentiful, drinks were available, maid service ok, etc. There was a lot of entertainment, tours available, etc., so you always had something to do if you wanted to. This was an all inclusive resort. All in all, I would do it again.

On our last trip we enjoyed taking a helicopter tour to the Pitons. We also loved going on the Brig Unicorn is a replica of a 18th century Brig, built in Finland in 1946. The ship has been used in the movies “Roots” and Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean, and many other documentaries. Lots of fun!
The best advise is to find a Certified Sandals Specialist that can give you lots of valuable information and they don't charge extra for it.

I have had the same sandals since 2001 cuz I can't find any like the ones I'm looking for. I want the ones that have the thick strap that starts in the middle of the foot and ends before the toes. Has anyone seen any online or at any stores? I've been looking forever!! Whenever I watch the news, I see Arab people throwing their sandals at things. If they want to do damage, they should throw rocks. Why sandals?

How do you break in Rainbow sandals?
I just purchased a pair of Rainbow sandals, and I was aware that they needed to be broken in, but I can't believe the break-in period is this painful! I literally have two patches of skin missing where the strap has rubbed against, and every step is just as painful as the last one.
Some friends have told me to wear them in the shower, where some friends advised against this. Some told me to where the sandals every other day until they're broken in, along with other random pieces of advice. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

This allows your foot to slop around creating friction and wearing away at the tender dermitus. I think I am one of the few people left (at least in Texas) who believes you should not wear linen or sandals or white skirts, etc. before Easter. Who else still follows this rule?

Sandals are more for letting your feet out in the air so that they can breathe. Socks and sandals are usually just a last resort, and people wear it usually when theres no other option, or when their shoes are in an inaccessible place...far away, or upstairs even lol. I don't really buy into the whole fashion statement thing, but socks and sandals just looks weird anyway, so that's just another reason to not do it.

I have seen on a couple of sites that returning guest recieve a free room upgrade. We went to Sandals a couple of years ago and I was wandering if I can get an upgrade for returning. The Sandals site says nothing about it.

Looking for "Reef" flip flops/sandals in Vancouver, BC?
I bought a pair of these Reef flip flops at a sm town specialty store a couple o yrs ago, and they are the comfyest sandals I've ever worn. The store closed down, now I'm not sure where I might beable to find these sandals again. Has anyone seen these in Vancouver, BC? or can suggest a chain store I might find them in?

Can any one thing of something that I can put on the edge of the strap of black sandals to cushen it so that it doesn't rub on my big toe all day? It is just one solid strap that goes across.

A pad that you buy for corns (at the pharmacy). It's pretty much a cushion pad and you can use scissors to trim it to the size you need.

Wearing leather sandals as a vegan?
As stated before, I will soon be vegan (I've taken steps of cutting things out of my diet 1 by 1 because I take this very seriously as a lifelong commitment). I've also made the choice to never purchase the skin or fur of animals again. (And I haven't for over 2 years.)
I've got these really comfortable sandals that I've had for 6 years. The tops are leather. I believe that throwing them away would be wasteful and disrespectful to the animal that died for them, and I believe that in my care they could last decades. So I'm thinking of ways to reconcile them with my moral imperative, since a vegan wearing leather is pretty hypocritcal.
What if I carve the words "never again" into the front straps (quite visibly) so that I can use them as a discussion piece for what motivated my change? Would this be self-righteous? What if I don't preach about them, and simply reply "what do you think?" to anyone who asks, and then ask if they would like to learn more?

Anyone know how to find sandals from last year that were sold at PayLess?
I bought these great sandals last year from PayLess and I had another pair in my hands to buy so I would have two because I loved them so much. I put the second pair back. Now this year, the sandals are not available. I wrote to PayLess and they don't have any styles from last year or an outlet of any sort. I could kick myself for not getting the other pair. Teva's drop that low then, and those are about the best made sandals you can get in my opinion...I hike and climb, Rock, Mud, Sand and Rivers in mine...comfy...surefooted...Teva's are outstanding

No. Those shoes don't go with the material of that dress. The red belt is knock out beautiful and should be the accent of that outfit. Those shoes will distract. I'd wear black shoes so the eye travels to your small waist and up to your face, not down to your shoes that don't match.
Love the dress and belt!!!
EDIT: If you change the belt to white the white shoes will match better than they do now. But, you'd be taking away one of the great accessories to that dress. I'd wear the red belt at this time of year with black shoes, then when Spring/Summer gets here wear the white accessories.

My leather sandals is giving out a very bad smell!! wat shld i do??
I got a pair of sandals for a good amount. its been three month i bought it and for the past month its giving out a foul smell. My feet is not the problem because i wear shoes and they dont smell.
The drycleaners wont dryclean them. wat should i do!! i dont want to throw them, they are costly!!!

Reply:I believe that these are just quality leather shoes if they smell like strong leather then this is good, but if this is someother odor like sweaty feet smell then you can remedy both these problems with one simple inexpensive treatment, first by sponging on White Vinegar and a little water, this will not only clean your leather sandals but also help to preserve them longer and will make them smell nice by removing that strong odor of new leather, this is typical with leather products that are quality, then when you have done this with the Vinegar you then wrap them in newspaper over night by morning they will be less pungent then you should do this a second time with the newspaper and your shoes will finally be deodorized, but if you are still get that strong odor then I would say this is your feet that is causing this odor the sweat mixing with the leather, you must soak your feet in White Vinegar and a small basin or some way you can soak your feet, use about 3/4 cup added to a half full basin of water soak for about twenty minutes or until the water is has gone cold, you must use tepid water in this basin, then when you wear your sandals again dust your feet with cornstarch or baking soda and your feet will stay odor free and there will be less chance of your leather sandals causing that odor, do this until the smell has really gone or has lessened. Good Luck !

Honeymoon destination - Sandals Antigua?
Has anyone been to Sandals Resort in Antigua recently? On the net there are so many reviews some really really bad, some really really good - don't know if I should book the resort or not? Any comments?
In particular I know there was major building work last year for the new village? Has that completed yet or anyone know if it will complete by 2007?
Also cleanliness / staff / beaches - good or not?

Honeymoon destination - Sandals Antigua?
I am from Antigua and let me tell you my boy friend work there and it is one of the best place that you could ever be! every where have it good and bad! But you just have to experience it to find out! The project it not 100% finish as yet but its all good, the staff is friendly and the beaches is lovely! Good luck and let me know if you decided to come!

In particular I know there was major building work last year for the new village? Has that completed yet or anyone know if it will complete by 2007?
Also cleanliness / staff / beaches - good or not?
Did everyone get upgraded rooms on arrival?
