Is guys wearing sandals/flip flops symbolic of a rebellious attitude?

In the movie "Office Space" they portray that when the guy comes to work in flip flops he is showing a bad, rebellious, not caring much side of himself. Somewhat of a "gangsta". (me I like wearing sandals so I don't care either way) Just curious what your opinions are on this?

Is guys wearing sandals/flip flops symbolic of a rebellious attitude?
No, just a guy being casual.
Reply:thats only because his office has business attire and flip flops are casual wear. just cuz you wear flip flops to the beach or on the weekends, you are not a badass
Reply:I think it is an attitude of rebellion. Except when a man wears socks with sandals or flipflops. Then it's just something the poor thing can't help!
Reply:No... they just feel like wearing it cause its hot outside.
Reply:hahaha, office space is a sweet movie. but no, it doesn't mean anything like that. It means you like sandals! Guys who wear flipflops... thats weird to me. I suggest not doing that ; )
Reply:i think it looks cute especially during summer. people hardly see the guys feet open so this is the chance coz its summer and personally i find it hot. i even got a pair 4 my b/f

BUT

dont wear them in the office. its not that u r badass or anything its just that it doesnt agree with the office environment. it looks out of place.

Should there be a law against people wearing sandals with socks?

I live in southern CA, so people wear sandals all year round. I am one of them, but I never wear socks. I think wearing socks with sandals is gross, I dont know why people do it, especially in the summer when its hot out. There should be a law stating sandals are for barefeet only!

Should there be a law against people wearing sandals with socks?
Yes, it is gross.
Reply:its like saying candies are for kids only...
Reply:people that wear sandals without socks are soooo gross...all that sweat soaked leather stinking up the place...ugly gnarled toenails sticking out for everyone to see....sooooo tacky!!!
Reply:OMG yea i been waiting for someone to say something about that

I thought i was the only one thinking that
Reply:It would be nice to have a law like that. Socks defeat the whole purpose of wearing sandals in the first place. If a person wants to wear socks with sandals, then the socks should have lace around the tops of them, because only girls wear socks with sandals around here.

Another thing I can't stand, females wearing tennis shoes or work boots with a dress or skirt on.
Reply:Or wear a tie without a shirt? Yes, there should be a law against that.
Reply:lol.good one:)
Reply:lol okay...
Reply:Yup I agree

It looks so stupid.
Reply:That is the truth too. I live in Florida and I wear flip flops all the time unless I'm going to work. I think the only people around here that I see wearing them are tourist. They need to leave their style at their house before they come to someone else's state. Northerners do it also.
Reply:i live in central florida, i too thought there should be a law against it..... until i began working in a dentist office with a large percentage of "snow bird", or elderly patients. i would much rather see them wear socks with sandals then to see their dry, scaly, cracked, unmoisturized, ingrown, lack of circulation feet!!! just something to think about!
Reply:I wouldn't go as far as making it a law, but people should have better tastes and know it looks bad/weird and it's more comfortable to wear no socks when wearing sandals. Perhaps they are trying to hide their ugly feet!
Reply:Yeah I agree. The only case I could see it working is.... In cali a lot of people wear toe socks with flip flops and i think it looks cute.

Flip flops or sandals?

I live in the south where it is nearly 100 all summer long, so should I wear flip flops or sandals? Which look better, and which brands?

Flip flops or sandals?
Neither. Horrible.

Sandals: men should not show their feet.

Flip Flops: the name says it all. YUK.
Reply:For men?..sandals.
Reply:Ok, even though I am a chick with a chick answer... Walmart and Dollar General has flip flops from $1 to like $4. I bought numerous pairs, since they're so cheap, to wear different colors with different clothes and when they look worn you don't feel guilty about throwing out a pair of $3 shoes. I also learned the more expensive ones wear no better than the cheap ones. I paid like $8 last year at WalGreens for a pair of rubber flip flops, the kind WalMart sells for like $3 and two weeks later they rubber piece between the toe on one had already broken.
Reply:flip flops can cause foot problems so wear sandals. any brand is okay.
Reply:i dont know what brand but i would have to say to go with flip flops
Reply:flip flops and to tell you the best ones and the cheapest is at old naive.

GOOD LUCK!
Reply:Hollister flip flops =]
Reply:Sandals!?! You're A Guy Aren't You?? Now This Is Just ME!!! As Far As Flip-Flops, Females Are The Ones That Flip-Flops Are Made For!! I Know There Are Some "Guy" Flip-Flops, But NO!!! Don't Buy Them.

As Far As Sandals, I Wear Sandals WITH Socks!! I Feel Weird Wearing Them Without Any Socks!!! But Then Again I Wear Socks ALL The TIME!! (Except When When I'm In The Shower, Of Course!! I Just Think It's "Not Right" When I See Guys Wearing Flip-Flops With Or Without Socks. And I Mean The "Ankle" Socks. I Just Think That Guys Shouldn't Have Any "Open Toes" Type Of Footwear!! Wether It's Sandals, Flip-Flops, Whatever!!!

So Go With Sandals And Make Sure They're Nike!!!! And Wear Socks With Them!!
Reply:I prefer Teva Sandals, FOr me it is more comfortable, and the sandals stay on my feet, and don't slip off like flip flops do. But I wear sandals a lot and love wearing them.
Reply:Wear leather Rainbow sandals they're the best and they last forever.
Reply:flip flops
Reply:flip flors what else
Reply:FLIPPY FLOPPYIES
Reply:flip-flops, old navy!!!
Reply:sandals are the way to go and they are better for your feet in the end.
Reply:Flip-flops! They are cuter and keep your feet cooler and less sweaty than sandals. If you're a guy (and they have cute ones for girls, also), check out the ones from Old Navy. They are cheap, durable, and come in a wide variety of colors. If you're a girl, look into the Old Navy ones, too, but For Love 21 has CUTE pairs of flip flops for $6 or $7. They have girly designs and matching bags. %26lt;3
Reply:plain flip flops-most wear old navy brand

I live in south florida too and we make fun of people who wear sandals (sorry)
Reply:have you seen Vans flip flops. if your lookin 2 get agirl [or just look cute] wear flip flops but not if you have icky feet and remember NO SOCKS WITH SANDALS!
Reply:sandels
Reply:flip flops - american eagle
Reply:You should wear flip~flops! They are way more comfy than sandals.
Reply:your a guy so i suggest sandles for around town and flip flops for the beach!
Reply:from experience, flip flops don't look as good as everybody thinks if your flat footed. take into consideration your foot, find somethng thgat works for you. there are some manly sandals out there that aren't really bulky and cumbersome. you just have to look. i prefer sandals...but ...it mght just be me.
Reply:I prefer to wear flip flops. I love sandals but flip flops are easier. And about the brand, I never look at brands when buying sandals/flip flops that is the one area I am practical about because living in California you don't want a pair that breaks after a week. I look more for the quality, I like the Abricrobie flip flops.
Reply:You're like a dude right? So ok for hanging out w friends and NOT on the beach def sandals, and you shld wear birkenstocks!! They are absolutely the best. To the like beach and stuff def flip flops. Go get leather base though, cos in my experience, the rubber or plastic ones tend to hurt when they get sandy and wet...they rub your feet raw!! I would suggest Australian surf brands? Like Ripcurl, Quicksilver etc. etc.
Reply:neither one look better...they`re both ugly!!!
Reply:flip flops...they are good for your feet at high temperatures,....and are comfortable also. Try looking at Reef flip flops. It's sturdy and quite fashionable also
Reply:Flip flops!

What kind of sandals/shoes should I wear for traveling in Guatemala?

I figured for day time I can go with a heavy duty pair of sandals or some breatheable shoes that you don't have to wear socks with. But I'm not sure what I can wear for at night. I'd like something with a heel because I'll be going out, but is that practical? I have a feeling we will do a lot of walking around. What about a wedge?

What kind of sandals/shoes should I wear for traveling in Guatemala?
This answer, from a MALE perspective should prove to more helpful. The bottom line is to be COMFORTABLE. Are you walking around a lot? Sandals should be fine. Understand that the older parts of Guatemala have cobblestone roads and sidewalks, so spike heels are obviously not an option. In the bigger cities, you see sidewalks like here, so good athletic shoes are fine in these areas. Like you said, breathable shoes should work most anywhere. Wear the nicer shoes in the nightclubs and such when you go out at night.

My old girlfriend used to carry the "nice" shoes in her backpack, and when we arrived at our night-time destination she would change into them. When we had to walk back to the hotel after an evening out, the comfortable shoes came out and the nicer ones went into the backpack. This will not be seen as unusual at all, as that is what the locals do.

Generic instructions here, to be sure, but it really depends on what areas you will be visiting while in Guatemala. Do not go out alone, take someone with you, as the streets are not as safe there as they used to be. Have fun!
Reply:Wear whatever you wear at home. Its not like Guatemala is another planet.
Reply:For the day, wear anything that is comfortable because you will probably do a lot of walking. At night, just wear whatever heels you wear at home! I just don't think you should wear stilettos or anything like that because there are certain towns where you do have to walk a bit to get to clubs and restaurants. A nice pair of flats would be my choice.
Reply:Wear something thats comfortable
Reply:forget wear, don't bring at all as you will find lots of beautiful thing such as sandals (real leather sandals) when you get there and all hand made

What company do you think makes the best sandals?

I would like to know what company makes the best and most comfortable sandals. This can be casual sandals such as Dr Marten's and BIrkenstocks, or sport sandals such as Nike and TEvas.

What company do you think makes the best sandals?
Dr Martens. I won't wear anything else. People think they are heavy but you have to know how to walk in them. They will last for years.
Reply:islander
Reply:Dr. Marten's!! I used to bartend and would work very long hours on my feet. My Doc's were the only shoe I had that kept my feet and my legs from cramping. They also last for years. Best pair of shoes I've ever invested in.
Reply:I would not buy Docs. I bought a pair of Doc Martens and they lasted less than a year before falling apart. 120 bucks for a pair of sandals that were outlived by sandals from Payless. I still have Payless sandals that are about 5 years old. I know Birkenstocks are very high quality. Nike is OK, and I'm not sure about Tevas.
Reply:Birkenstock- they mold to your feet.
Reply:Merrells...nothing better!!!! I guarentee it.
Reply:I like rebok and nike their are the best and comfy!!!!
Reply:i have two pair of reef sandals.... love them both.... so much more comfy than rainbows.
Reply:Skechers
Reply:I just bought some leather Quicksilver flipflops and they are so comfortable, I sleep with them.
Reply:Reef makes the most awesome flip flops.....they have a bottle opener in the sole of the sandal !
Reply:birkenstocks... toe bar
Reply:adidas
Reply:Laguna(available at Wal-Mart)
Reply:As a person who has a left-foot problem (bunion, hammer toe and a condition called pronation for which I'm always supposed to wear orthotics, but don't), I find Dr. Scholl's to be the most confortable. They come in half sizes and wide widths and have what is called "Double Air-Pillo" cushioning and I can feel the difference over other brands. They're not the cheapest but not the most expensive either and are availabe in catalogs by mail or on line as well as in shoe stores.

Do tan colored sandals get dirty easily? or should i get a dark colored one?

do you think it's too light of a color? i think when i wear them, i would be wearing shorts with a white tshirt.

tan or darker colored reef sandals??

Do tan colored sandals get dirty easily? or should i get a dark colored one?
try dark because tan can get dirty fast.
Reply:Dark colored ones please or tan ones!
Reply:It kinda depends on where you live, but I's say DARK!
Reply:it definatly depends on where your going to be wearing them... if your in a dusty or dirty area where theres a lot of dirt that can be picked up if you walk.. then maybe you should get a dark color.. but if your just like walking on a cement floor.. or you know somewhere not dirty or too outdoorsy nature place. then you should be fine.. ..

What color shorts are you going to wear??. if tan then get tan sandals if blue jeans shorts then use black black and white go oddly enough good together. so it depends on alot.. but good luck!!

not sure what size 17 cm is

Reply:mmm... it's hard to say. I would be careful. I bought a costume and the sandals that came with were sooooo small. I even have small feet. Really small. Or they tend to be too big. My friends and i made ours. One used her own sewing kit and another put black socks over her black flip flops.

You may try googleing it. There's alwasy ebay or mooncostumes. I doubt you'll find them at the mall. The only place i can think of is hot topic, and that's highly unlikely. Best of luck finding or making sandals.

Does barefeet and sandals only disgust you on people that you have seen before not that way?

I find it disgusting someone that I had seen with shoes before to see them with barefeet or sandals but yet if I meet a complete stranger for the first time and they are that way it does not seem to bother.

Does barefeet and sandals only disgust you on people that you have seen before not that way?
I don't find either bare feet or sandals disgusting.

It's just feet!

In the climate where I live, people spend a lot of time in sandals in the summer, even in an office environment, and bare feet are perfectly acceptable almost anywhere.

I have no problem with them, unless they are dirty or smelly, in which case they can be offensive, but that is a matter of hygiene not appearance.

Cheers :-)
Reply:I dont really see why it bothers you.
Reply:I wish I could wear sandals 365 days a year. I feel too confined in socks and tennis, kinda like wearing a turtleneck sweater.

I usually don't pay attention to other's feet but I did notice a women in a bathroom stall next to me at the store today that could of used a couple pedicures.
Reply:No it doesnt bother me and it shouldnt bother u unless u have some kind of compulsive thing going on. i go barefoot all the time and it doesnt bother me at all...
Reply:No why should they.

Some find it alluring you know.
Reply:No, that is really weird. Bare feet only gross me out when they are nasty and/or hairy.
Reply:Would you prefer socks with those sandals???

Sandals aren't meant to be worn any other way. I would be more disgusted if it were just the bare feet with no sandal at all.
Reply:No. I find it quite unusual that you apply some kind of expectation to people based on your first impression of them.

What brand of sandals are these, and where can I buy another pair?

I bought a pair of sandals at a store called ZCMI in Utah when they were going out of business, about 6 or 7 years ago, and by the time I realized how much I liked them, the brand name had already worn off the blue section under the heel. The tags had worn away too, so I have no idea what brand they are, or where I can get another pair. Can anyone tell me?

Should I wear Sandals to a jazz club?

Its a pretty casual place kinda near a university(I'm in my mid 20's/ male) and with it being warm out I was thinking of wearing my Adidas sport slides like this:

http://www.shoes.com/product.asp?catalog...

Or maybe just my thong sandals With a pair of Cargo Khaki pants(or grey jeans) and a short sleeve henly shirt.

Should I wear Sandals to a jazz club?
No! Get some class...lol...j/k But no don't do it.
Reply:No. You have to wear heals, or closed shoes. ITs a jazz club, you'll dance and be unconfortable when you see that people are waering heals.

Good luck
Reply:Please don't..not to an indoor event. If it were out side then..yes. Trust me most women would agree.

By your attention to your wardrobe..you're probably a sexy dude..keep it that way and save the slides for another time and place.
Reply:some clubs can be funny about how you dress. give them a call and ask if casual dress/sandals will be ok. so then u will know for sure.

alternatively, take two pairs of footwear...sandals and smart shoes. if the club refuses you entry to the sandals...just change into the smart shoes. best of luck
Reply:no. unless everyone is in very casual attire
Reply:Don't wear the slides, I think those are for the track or gym or going to the park or walking the dog. Thong sandals and cargos would be fine for a casual club, though. Sounds good to me.
Reply:It should be okay but you may wish to call ahead just to make sure they have no specific requirements on footwear as Ive noticed even some casual clubs do when it comes to footwear and I'm not sure why.

I got these sandals, and I'm gonna start wearing them, what should I wear them with ?? matching outfit ?
I can't believe some of these comments, people should not be so mean. Don't worry, if you like them that is what matters. Go ahead and rock your own style! Here are my suggestions:

Those sandals are unique and could have a funky edge. You could go mod with short trapeze dress in a bright print, and carry a straw bag which will pick up the cork sole. You could lace the sandals with laces in a bright color pulled from the dress. Here is another great example of a great mod look (the model is wearing closed shoes but yours would give the same feeling just a bit more casual) http://www.chickdowntown.com/viewproduct...

White bermuda shorts with a cute T and pointelle cami layered underneath (the pointelle will pick up the perforation detail in your new sandals).

Bright capris (choose one of the great colors of this season, like coral or yellow) paired with a white eyelet babydoll top (again the eyelet will pick up the shoe's detailing).. Here's a great deal on an eyelet babydoll: http://www.target.com/Juniors-Xhilaratio...

Safari style is in this season. Try khaki shorts with a bright tank top, some wooden jewelry that has some white accents, and a white floral print scarf tied like a headband.

I can also see you wearing these with a fun nautical inspired look. Cuffed navy shorts with a navy/white srtiped T and a yellow belt. Top it with a cropped denim jacket, like this one: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce...

The sandals have some silver accents. You could go for a crisp monochromatic look of white and silver. White skirt, white T, silver belt, silver and white bangles, white headband, silver handbag. This white skirt is perfect with your sandals: http://www.metrostyle.com/clothing/Knit-...

These would be a good anchor for the new wide leg jeans (skimpy shoes just don't look right with those). The newest are the super-high waisted ones. Pair them with a puffy sleeved blouse. Here is an example of this look: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/in...

I also made a polyvore set with more ideas:

http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=12620...
Reply:If you like them, then wear them, and everyone else be damned! I, personally, think they'd look awesome with knee socks, but do whatever you like.

Reply:uhmm... really really long jeans that cover them?!

sorry but those are pretty ugly... just go with whatever your mom says
Reply:Those are some ugly shoes.
Reply:Sure go with white tights.

Don't listen to what the others said - I'm sure you'll look cute in anything.
Reply:Wow you ask aton of questions and answer barely any, none in fact! Fishy
Reply:Those are hideous!
Reply:sorry to break it to you babe, but those are ugly.

How do you clean sweaty leather sandals?

I have a couple of pairs of leather clog sandals that I have not had very long, I really like these sandals and dont want to throw them away. I wore them to the beach and they got wet while I was wearing them and now they have that sweaty smell when i wear them for any amount of time. Is there a product or any way to clean them?

How do you clean sweaty leather sandals?
depends on the leather really,

but you will have to get a really good leather cleaner and conditioner in one product. Walmart sells one that is pretty good comes in black bottle so does cvs . Lather up the sandals really well with product , you might want to use a soft bristle brush too to open the leather pores up and remove dirt and soil and odor , then you will have to wipe clean with soft cloth and let dry and then repeat process. if its dark leather you can also try spraying folex on the sandals and immediately wiping dry after you use leather treatment.

you shouldnt wear leather sandals to the beach, the salt sand and water is horrible on leather , there are many sandals that eva or have cloth straps ,

im not sure if you are a man or woman or what kind of sandals you wore but reef , crocs, danclogs, privo and earth make all purpose sandals
Reply:I think I can help. Do this at your own risk!!! Follow this exactly: Do not skip any steps or try to shortcut them. First, are they completely sewn together, glued together, or both? If you can see the stitching where everything is sewn together, try the following. IF THEY ARE NOT OR YOU DON'T KNOW, READ FATHER DOWN!* First, make sure you have enough time to do all the steps. Next, using a clean bucket or dish pan, submerge the sandals in clean, warm water. Then using a clean rag such as a piece of an old towel, rub the stains off as best you can. If you wish you can use saddle soap to help clean them. RINSE THOROUGHLY! Now towel dry them. Work up a dry lather with the saddle soap and work it into the leather with a dry clean rag. A dry lather is the consistency of shaving cream. Now comes the time consuming part. YOU MUST WEAR THEM UNTIL THEY ARE DRY OR THEY WILL DISTORT THEIR SHAPE! *For leather sandals that may not be all sewn together, try the following. Using a clean water and a soft rung out cloth wipe them down thoroughly. Be careful not to use too much water as anything that is glued may begin to come lose. As above, wear them until they are completely dry. Again, as above, rub a dry lather of saddle soap into the leather. The saddle soap will help with the smell. Remember, you are doing this at your own risk! I hope this is of some help.
Reply:saddle soap is for leather

What did you think of the Sandals resort in the Bahamas?

Hi all - I am going to the Sandals resort in the Bahamas and was just wondering what you thought of it (or any of the Sandals resorts in general). Did it feel awkward not tipping at all? Was the place clean? Did you sign up for any of the land/sea adventures? I am looking to book one of those when I get there but wanted to know what everybody thought of them first. I have heard good things from others but wanted additional opinions. Also, does anybody know what the weather will be like in May (which is when I am going)? Thank you!

What did you think of the Sandals resort in the Bahamas?
Most Sandals properties are great, the Grand Bahamian is one of its crown jewels.

Tipping is forbidden and people get fired for accepting, best way to show appreciation is to thank people and writer a letter.

May weather in Bahamas, near perfect with constant breeze.

have fun.
Reply:Went last year in May and it was great, and hot. As my wife and I are both divers we had a great time althought the actual diving was not all that great compared to Roatan or Belize. Hope u r taking a partner because it really is a beautiful romantic setting for relaxing and getting the stress off.

Can i wear sandals to disneyland & be able to get acess to all the rides?

Will i be able to get on all the rides if i wear sandals cause some parks dont let you get on all the rides.

Can i wear sandals to disneyland %26amp; be able to get acess to all the rides?
Wear your sandals if they're comfortable on you. On the hanging rides, you can take the shoes off before the rides start. I think it's just Soarin' Over Calif. (you leave your shoes on the ground or in the underseat pouch) and the orange swing thing (they have places to leave backpacks, shoes, etc.). If you ride the river rapid ride, you'll be glad you're not wearing sneakers!
Reply:Ofcourse! At DisneyLand there aren't really any restrictions concerning shoes. You may have to slide them off if you ride soarin or something, just for your own want of not loosing your shoes, lol.
Reply:probably but i wouldnt recomend it you need to wear comfy shoes at an amusment park or you will regret it by the end of the day you do a lot of walking
Reply:Yes, I wore flip flops for my trip and only had to take them off a couple of times for the rides where your feet hang free. However, on these types of rides, you must sit on your shoes and hope they don't creep out from behind you because Disney has absolutely zero storage for personal items (including back packs, purses, etc) while you are on the ride.

They will actually ask you to leave if you try to get on this type of ride with a back pack or purse. My sister and I took coach wristlet purses for our camera and cash and stuffed them in our shorts before getting on rides that forbid any type of bag.
Reply:Yeah, you should be okay. If anything, they will ask you to hold on to them.
Reply:Hey there,

If they are strap ons, then you will be fine, if they are flip-flops you will have to take them off-especially fi you go on the rides where your legs dangle

I hope you have fun there!!

lottie :D

Reply:disneyland-yes you can get on all rides wearing sandals

california adventure-rides that would probably make you take off ur sandals are the orange swing one, soarin over california, and maliboomer
Reply:yup they don't have dresscode for rides. it's all safe doesn't matter what shoes your wearing just as long as your wearin some.
Reply:In Disneyland, yes you can go on every ride with sandals/flip flops.

But if you're going to California Adventure, then there are a couple rides where you feet are hanging..so....If you're going, you might want to consider having shoes that'll stay on.:)

Have fun! :D

Some kind of sandals?

I'm not a girl but just wondering because I see a lot of girls wearing them at school. They're like these sandals but like they have this gray covering that covers the front of the foot. Something.

Some kind of sandals?
Birkenstocks maybe, or like someone else said, Crocs.

edit: Yes they are Birkenstock Clogs, search google for them :)
Reply:They sound somewhat like clogs, Is it a felt like material???...they have them at american eagle.

I'm not sure.

Are they crocs?

edit:

Wow them are some ugly shoes!!!

Crocs are ugly, but them are even worse.

Where can I find custom orthotic sandals?

Ideally I'd like to find a company that makes sandals with custom orthotics built in. Or else a brand of sports sandal that has removeable insoles.

Where can I find custom orthotic sandals?
You can find a chiropractor that makes orthotics by a company called "Foot Levelers". This company I believe still makes orthotic sandals. You will be casted and the cast will be sent to a lab to make your sandals...

Do you think schools should ban sandals and flip flops?

I’ve been an elementary teacher going on my tenth year. When I first started teaching just about every child at the school wore shoes and socks. Today I would say about half my students either wear sandals, flip flops or shoes with no socks. The district handbook says no flip-flops, but the school does not enforce it because of parent’s complaining their child is being singled out. I have had two students fall and hurt themselves due to wearing improper footwear. I have also noticed the kids do not move as well on the playground when not wear sneakers. I'm worried these kids are going to have a hard time wearing real shoes when they get older not to mention the foot problems they will have from wearing shoes with poor support. Don't get me started on the smell when one of these "no sock" wearing kids take their shoes off!

Do you let your child wear sandals and flip flops to school? Do you think schools should require proper well fitting shoes with socks?

Do you think schools should ban sandals and flip flops?
Hello:

Maybe my family and I aren't,"cool,"but I have never allowed my daughter to go to school in flip flops or sandals. Why you might ask? Has anyone ever seen a child running with flip flops or sandals on and then do a face plant right on the good old pavement or cement? nine times out of ten there goes some permanent teeth, blood is pouring out of the child's mouth and an emergency trip to the local hospital is in store.

Just imagine trying to comfort a screaming child when you know in your heart that their injury is really serious and it could have been prevented if the child's parents would have had them wear a really good pair of sneakers or tennis shoes.

My daughter begs for sandals and flip flops all of the time but I remind her that we have paid good money for her to have healthy teeth and I don't want to see her lose those teeth because she just has to have the latest pair of sandals or flip flops and falls right on her face on the pavement or cement.

As a matter of fact,my daughter's elementary school is going ot make it MANDATORY starting this school year, that if any child is seen wearing flip flops or sandals, they will be excused from school until the parents buy that child a pair of sneakers or tennis shoes, and then the child will be welcome to come back to school.

I am sure that some people will say that schools are overreacting if they don't allow children to wear flip flops or sandals, but I strongly disagree. Just think how much dental work and money parents could save their child from if they just enforced the rules and made that child wear ONLY tennis shoes or sneakers instead of flip flops or sandals! ;-)
Reply:My kids wear shoes and socks even when they are not is school. So they have no desire to wear flip flops. And yes I think they should be banned for safety.
Reply:Well, I'm a 10th grader and I currently live in Georgia. I have to wear socks with tennis shoes for marching band, but during the day, because of the hot temperatures, I like wearing flip flops. So, when 7th period rolls around I just put on my socks and shoes and go play my tuba. My school allows flip flops, but I completely agree with what I've been seeing, there should be some form that if you don't abide by the handbook, then the school isn't liable for any injuries.
Reply:being from the south i can understand not wanting to wear socks and sneakers....however, if the school's policy is no sandals/flipflops and a child (and his/her parent) doesn't follow the guidelines then the parents should be held responsible for any injuries (there should be some form they sign saying that if they do not comply with the handbook the school cannot be held accountable)
Reply:HAHAHA! I'm going to school for teaching. I think there are a lot more issues that I would take up than this one. I also think that flip flops and sandals are almost mandatory here, I live in AZ and the Temp gets over 110 some days. It's not practicle to have the students wearing socks and shoes in the summer. It increases my body temp (or so it feels like) so I can totally understand whats going on with the kids.

Another thing if your school doesn't plan on enforcing a rule they should not have it. If you really want the rule enforced send out a letter outlinning the rules of the dress code at the begining of each year. Explain in the letter that you will be enforcing the code, and stick with it. Get a bunch of the teachers on board with you and that way no one can say that their child is being singled out. Also make sure the principle is on board, he will be the one hearing from the parents when you explain the new dress code crack down. I still feel that there is more important fights you could be fighting, but if this is the one that has gotten under your skin go for it. Just don't turn into a drill sargent, possibly make it a thematic unit kind of thing, have fun with it.
Reply:Sandals that strap around the ankle should be allowed.

Flip flops should not. Theyre annoying sounding.
Reply:At our elementary school (I am a parent %26amp; staff member) the rules state no open toed shoes. That does not mean it is enforced. I think that our admin. feels that we are lucky if our lower income students have shoes at all. I watch children run and play on the playground with flip flops on, and while I have not seen any injuries from them, they could easily happen.

I feel that at the elementary level shoes should be closed toe. As for the sock issue, I am not sure why the children would be taking their shoes off so if they don't want to wear socks that is not nearly as big of an issue to me.
Reply:My child doesn't like flip-flops so I don't have to worry about her falling.
Reply:If they are young kids still playing on the playground flip flops shouldn't be worn... They can really hurt their feet..
Reply:The schools need to send parents a letter stating the kids are to wear shoes. They are also to leave them on on school property.Sandals I might would let slide, if they are secured on well, but flip flops are dangerous to run in.
Reply:Arent there more important things to worry about?
Reply:yes I do
Reply:i would never let my kid wear sandals/flipflops to school ANY day
Reply:Its funny how things vary from place to place. I graduated from highschool 5 years ago and we were NEVER allowed to wear shoes without socks.
Reply:our schools don't allow flip flops.
Reply:Kids should be allowed sandals; closed shoes don't allow the foot to breathe. They may protect against minor injuries but really how serious is a scraped toe? Closed shoes increase/aggravate many problems as sweaty feet and fungus, especially when they must be worn when it's hot. Fungus loves dark, damp and warm places to grow! Support is way overrated and can even cause problems of its own too; see some of the links in the source about athletic footwear and injuries.

I grew up without any dress code really, we always wore slippers, flipflops, sandals to school and I can't recall any injuries. For the past ten years of my life I've even been barefoot everywhere and I get a tiny splinter maybe once a year, never had a cut, and in fact I've never been as healthy overall... used to be cold all the time, sickly from early fall until late spring no matter how many doctor's visits I made, but in the past ten years I've called in sick once (for all of two days). There are many sites showing closed footwear worn at all times does more harm than good.
Reply:I think they should ban any shoes without backs, be it sandal, flip-flops or clogs. I've seen too many children fall and hurt themselves while trying to run and play. And while they are at it, they ought to ban high heels for elementary school kids for the same reason. The sock thing is a matter of personal preference and I can't see any rationale for not letting kids go without. If their feet are that bad the other kids will let them know.
Reply:Me and my parents used to think that was such a stupid rule when I was in elementary school.
Reply:I do not allow my kids (going into to 5th and 7th grades) where sandals, flip flops or shoes with socks. They both enjoy "recess" and fortunately they realize that wearing improper footwear hampers this ability. I think a good sandal with proper straps (on front and back) is OK but they don't protect those little toes from getting stepped on and injured. And I feel for you with the no sock wearing kicks -- ewwww STINKY!!!! Schools are there to protecting our children and the parents who complain about no flip flops are not thinking clearly about the safety of their children. In Jr. High the school does not allow a heal over 2 inches, thank goodness!
Reply:no I love flip flops

Is guys wearing sandals/flip flops symbolic of a rebellious attitude?

In the movie "Office Space" they portray that when the guy comes to work in flip flops he is showing a bad, rebellious, not caring much side of himself. Somewhat of a "gangsta". (me I like wearing sandals so I don't care either way) Just curious what your opinions are on this?

Is guys wearing sandals/flip flops symbolic of a rebellious attitude?
Depends. If you're going to work and your job requires/wants you to wear a suit and tie, then it's rebellious and you'll get a talk (not to mention it doesn't look professional in such a setting).

Otherwise, it's perfectly fine for a guy to wear flip flops pretty much anywhere. They're just like any other shoe or piece of clothing.

I would have to say it's not gangsta. That kind of style is more of a leather jacket, heavy black boots and chains. Flip flops are much more of a surfer or prep style for guys.
Reply:I never seem the movie.
Reply:It's funny you should ask this...my neighbor thinks her teen son is rebellious %26amp; "going down the wrong path" because he wears flops %26amp; sandals - with everything, and jeans in the winter. I thought she was crazy for saying that!! I grew up on the beach %26amp; wore them out everywhere. Besides - they're hot on a guy...WITH good feet! Ew, otherwise! Especially if they're a really unique pair - that look worn %26amp; could tell great stories :)
Reply:well it just depends on wear you are going. if you wear them to work and your work is like dress up attire then yea i would say it gives that impression. but if you are like a teacher or something along that lines then it is ok.
Reply:As long as they are not worn with socks, they are both stylish and sexy... just wash your feet first, as cheesy odours may offend!

And watch out for toenails... keep them neat and clipped.

As for the Gangsta thing; surely not? Possibly P Diddly wears them, but that man would wear a babygro if it had a label on it.
Reply:Love that movie!

I think men who wear flip flops are sexay!

Ew, but in no way "gangsta".

Shoes and socks, sandals, flip flops or barefeet on your kids?

Do you let your kids wear sandals or flip flops or do you require shoes and socks outside. Do they wear shoes in the house? Do you let them go barefoot outside? Do you allow shoes with no socks. My kids have to wear shoes and socks and for the most part have never complained. I do not think anything less is best for active kids. I'm asking this because my son wanted to wear flip flop and I told him only if he is going to the beach or swimming. What is your take?

Shoes and socks, sandals, flip flops or barefeet on your kids?
I agree with you - Shoes and socks for running around outside; flipflops for the beach. Your child will be more prone to trip if they're using flipflops. It's almost impossible to run in them.
Reply:i believe its up to the persons choice my kids choose n i choose for myself n they do also
Reply:I like to take it Jesus style.
Reply:I would never wear shoes of any type in the summer time when I was a kid. I would run around the block and backyard barefoot and nothing bad ever came to it, and when I got home my mom would make me wash me feet? Whats the big deal about not wearing shoes?
Reply:I would allow my kids (If I ever have any) to wear flip flops when the weather is nice outside for flip-flop weather. I will even alow them to wear sandals as well even if the weather is a little bit cool. AT this day and age, you see a lot of people wear sandals almost year round. BUt I would only allow my kids to wear sandals when the weather is warm outside, and the temp has to be at least 60'F
Reply:My daughter loves to wear flip flops, sometimes inside and sometimes outside (depending on the weather). Inside the house we either have socks, slippers or barefeet. She absolutely can not go barefooted outside. I do not like that. And with shoes she wears socks unless its those cute ballet slipper type shoes, those are better w/o socks, but I make sure she washes her feet thoroughly when she takes a bath.
Reply:My kids can wear sandles (if warm enough), inside or outside. My kids wear shoes and socks (when chilly) inside or outside. I will not let them wear flip flops at all (one time I was wearing them and a bee got in between my flip flop and my foot and I stepped down and I got stung, I don't want that to happen to my kids) unless they are inside. If there is snow on the ground they must wear socks and boots outside.
Reply:i think it depends on lots of stuff. is it warm or cold? where are you going? what else is he wearing? what do the people around you wear? me myself go barefoot in the house all the time, so does my toddler. when i go outside and it's cooler than like 75 i wear shoes and socks, so does my toddler. when it's hot outside i go barefoot or wear sandles or flip flops. my baby's never gone barefoot outside because his feet are more soft and sensitive than mine for something hot or sharp. if he's wearing shorts then sandles or flip flops would be appropriate. i'm sure you're glad i told you all this about my feet! lol!! honey, you're the mom, you decide what the child wears but remember to pick your battles if the child is old enough to have a preference and is not picking something that is unsafe then why not let them do it. good luck!
Reply:It all depends how old the child is,the climate and seasons, where you live, apartment a house with yard etc. For the little ones sneakers because of the rubber sole and foot protection, easy to wash etc. For the older kids whatever they like, except for sports or city enviorment, lots of injuries happen to feet like sprains and cuts.Shoes should be worn with socks to prevent blisters, and prevent build-up of moisture that can cause fungal infections like athletes foot.
Reply:flip flops are okay for warm weather and casuel hanging out. I won't let my eight year old wear them though, he rides his bike in them and I'm afraid he'll mess up his feet.

I am absolutly against being barefoot out doors, if they have shoes, they MUST wear socks (stinky feet factor(, sandles are okay, again in the righ tsetting.
Reply:It depends on how good the child is in flip flops and how smelly his/her socks are and feet.
Reply:Shoes are not allowed indoors (we have expensive flooring). Outside, if its warm, above 65 degrees, my kids go barefoot. They love it, and their feet are surprisingly tough from it. When we go out like to the store or to run errands, they wear flip flops if its warm, and if its cold, they wear socks and shoes. I say that they are only kids for a little while, so why not let them run barefoot and be kids while they can. Parents shouldn't be so overprotective. When I was a kid, I barely knew what a pair of shoes looked like until I started school at age 5.
Reply:I agree.
Reply:I wasn't a real barefooter yet as a kid, but I never wore shoes around the house, and I usually played in the back yard barefoot, and in parks and such, no one ever thought anything was strange or dangerous about that. We had a gravel driveway and I ran across that when the ice cream man came through the street (thirty years ago not everyone had a freezer yet so they came %26amp; sold ice cream on nice days riding through the streets ringing their bell -for those younger folks who don't know 'cause I haven't heard him in ages!). Usually there were some kids standing around there in slippers but others barefoot too. PE was and is still normally taught barefoot too. In summer we all wore sandals, open toed shoes were then %26amp; are now normal in school, much better than sweaty closed shoes! I can't remember any foot injuries from me or my friends from going barefoot or with open-toed sandals.

Only times I remember footwear causing a fall is a couple times riding my bicycle with closed shoes with laces, the laces came undone %26amp; got stuck around the pedals. No injuries but it was scary falling that way 'cause my foot was stuck %26amp; it was hard to get loose and get up, that's why I remember. I slipped off the pedals a few times with flipflops but never took a fall from that, just 'oops' and kept going.

Oh, I see another answerer who won't wear flipflops because of a bee encounter: I stepped on a bee once in my 38 years of flipflops, open sandals, bare feet etc (didn't think of it right away since it wasn't a childhood experience). Now I'm not very sensitive to bee stings so while it hurt pretty bad as it happened, I pulled out the stinger %26amp; half an hour later I couldn't find where it happened, as has also been the case in the dozen other times I was stung by bees, wasps etc elsewhere... But even if it had hurt for a few days or a week... would I give up wearing flipflops %26amp; going barefoot for 38 years just to prevent that one sting? My personal answer would be no way. The odds of that happening are pretty low, we have lots of flowers in the yard %26amp; lots of bees, bumblebees, some years we had a wasp's nest nearby, I sometimes got stung elsewhere when playing but I was very active in our back yard barefoot and I was in my twenties before I stepped on my first (and so far only) bee.

People in the US are so overprotective of their children and there's a lot of anti-barefoot bias too! Bare feet are healthy, closed shoes can actually damage growing feet more than an occasional splinter or scrape will. Please take a look at the website below for some advice on barefooting for kids.
Reply:It depends on the weather and what we are going to be doing if i let my daughter wear sandals or flip flops. Sandals or flip flops are for the beach or swimming and she must wear socks with her shoes. And we make sure she takes her shoes off while inside.

Which pair of sandals should I buy?

I'm a guy, and I really like both pairs of these sandals, but I can only buy one pair. Which one should I get. Do girls like any pair more than the other?

Which pair of sandals should I buy?
Neither!!! On one hand, I suppose guys deserve the comfort of feeling the air between their toes as much as ladies do, but on the other, you have to be really careful, because toe exposure is predominantly a femenine thing! If you MUST... go for something athletic. Like this: http://www.famousfootwear.com/product.as...

Now that I've thrown a wrench into things... be sure to let us know about your decision! ;)

As a female I don't have a preference.

Smelly feet and sandals/slippers?

Why do feet smell bad sometimes when wearing certain slippers or sandals? yet... they don't smell when wearing regular shoes...

Smelly feet and sandals/slippers?
If your feet sweat or get wet on certain shoe materials (leather) it permeates the material and grows the smelly bacteria. Hard to get rid of except to throw the shoes out!!
Reply:Some shoes are like this. It's be cause of sweat and your shoes get wet. It depends on the material of the sandal or slippers. Don't wear man made leather shoes they are the ones that usually stink.
Reply:Sandals/slippers with manmade leather often gets smelly, so I generally stay away from those, and stick with the genuine stuff. So check those shoes or sandals or whatever that you seem to have a problem with, because if all of them are fake leather, or plastic flats, then that may just be your problem.

Why do my sandals turn black?

The foot bed of my sandals turn black wear my foot is. Why is this? I cleaned them up real good over the weekend and now they are black again. My feet are clean.

Why do my sandals turn black?
Mine do this! I believe it's just sweat and whatnot. Try wearing socks? Lol. Idk.
Reply:It's oils and sweat from your feet.
Reply:It's probably residual dirt from where you're walking as well as skin cells that die and rub off. If you haven't worn them, they might be 'infected' with a foot fungus - sorry! I had to go to a bowling alley to find out how to get the disinfectant they spray into the shoes they rent! Try that!! Other than that, use the hand sanitizers on your feet. They're formulated to kill germs on your hands and they'll help control any odor that hangs around!!

Good luck!
Reply:mine do that too. i have no idea why.

Save me from the socks and sandals!?

Please help me.

My dad wears high, white, athletic socks with brown leather sandals almost daily, claiming it keeps his feet cooler than regular shoes, but wearing sandals w/o socks make his feet cold.

As a teenager, and a fashionable one at that, it is quite embarrassing whenever we go out somewhere as a family.

My dad has very sensitive feet, making it almost impossible to buy shoes for him.

Does anyone have any ideas of stores where I can find breathable, comfortable shoes (price not a problem) that are not a fashion crime?

Save me from the socks and sandals!?
Ow! I am feeling your pain. I don't like socks with sandals in any setting but maybe you can work with it.

If you can't find better shoes for Dad, maybe you should work on the socks. They don't have to be white and they don't have to be high. If the sandals are dark leather then some black low-quarter socks would look soooooooo much better! That way Dad can be comfy but the look isn't such a contrast. If he insists on knee-highs try to find something more flesh toned.
Reply:Everyone has a dad like that so don't worry. If you are totally bugging out about it..try crocs. They are super comfy!! and breath and are actually popular!

Reply:I feel your pain, but you will probably not change his mind by buying breathable, comfortable, stylish shoes. He has hit upon a solution that he likes and he will probably stick with it. Maybe you can come up with some bold socks that really make an avant garde fashion statement and get him to wear those with his sandals.
Reply:crocs.com is a great place..
Reply:why don't ya buy some crocs for him

Reply:does strapless sandals really work? well it depends on which part of the world you from. there is lovely strapless sandals on the market all over the world, any shoe shop in the summer should have some. personally i do not like bear heels, because of the climate...it is very hot and dry...your heels can crack severely if not looked after properly. for this reason i prefer closed sandals. best prices and best time to shop for what you want is just after summer!...it is then when you will get all the bargains...hope this helped.

Is it okay for teenage guys to wear sandals to school??

I live in a beach-town on the coast of California, and not a whole lot of guys wear sandals, but some do. Do you think its okay for me to wear sandals too? Its pretty hot right now where i live, so its appropriate, and i want to wear Rainbows (for those of you who dont know, Rainbow is a popular brand, they aren;t rainbow colored!!! they are brown leather).

Do you think this is cool??

1. no flipflops

2. if youre gonna wear sandals, dont wear socks

3. i just HOPE you're NOT painting you toenails... unless you're goth and theyre black then that makes sense

Which spot to honeymoon at in sandals??

i am looking for a romantic but fun place in sandals to have my honeymoon.

now i know sandals is expensive but i still am trying to look for an affordable but romantic destination

Which spot to honeymoon at in sandals??
I just booked my honeymoon in the Sandals Grande St. Lucian, in of course St. Lucia. It's the cheaper of the 3 that are on the island. But the way Sandals there work is you stay at one but you kind of have a free pass to their other sites. So you can go to the other two locations and play golf on their golf course and have dinner and drinks, spend time at the beach, anything. The only catch is you have to go back to your original hotel to sleep. They have included trasnsportation to those sites too.

I think that helps because you have less of a chance of getting bored. I spoke to a travel agent about what i wanted and that was the one major thing he pointed out about all the smaller resorts pretty much anywhere. That because it's cheaper, it's smaller and that a lot of couples get bored there very easily.

Plus, i'm not sure when you're wedding is, BUT one thing to take into consideration is if it's in Hurricane season. The Caribean can get pretty nasty during it's hurricane season. So since my honeymoon coinsides with hurricane season i was told that St. Lucia is perfect because it has a very low rate of hurricanes during the season because it's just below the hurricane belt. Plus Sandals has protection. If you're trip gets ruined because of the hurricane they will reschedule you.

I would go to a travel agent and speak with them about what you're looking for and when your expecting to have it. And don't be afraid of the price either. Think of it this way, you get everything included. No surpirse bill from the bar or the restaurant that can add up to a lot when every meal is payed for in cash on a regular vacation. Besides, after planning your wedding you're going to need to relax and not have to worry about money.

Good Luck, and feel free to email w/any other questions.
Reply:We went to Negril in Jamaica. It was a lot of fun. It was pretty far from the airport so we wound up on a bus for another hour or two from the airport and that was kind of lousy but it was great fun. Not much to do off the actual resort, but we were between the Beaches resort and the Hedonism resort, so that was kind of interesting. It was all inclusive of course, so we didn't have to pay for food or alcohol or pretty much anything else. If you want to scuba dive, parasail or go on any tours, you typically do have to fork over extra cash, but otherwise, everything else is covered. If you are really looking for a party scene, our travel agent told us to go to the Montego Bay Sandals resort in Jamaica. We declined. You still get the same party atmosphere at Negril, but on a smaller level. You will probably have a great time but if you do go to Negril, don't forget ANYTHING because there are pretty much no stores to pick up anything you have forgotten to bring with you...and do the booze cruise to Rick's place, its a hoot and you can go cliff diving there as well.
Reply:There are 3 Sandals in St. Lucia. It is a very laidback beautiful island in the Carribean!

Reply:I just bought my daughter a pair. She chose Tan but it took her a while to decide on the color because she knew that I would buy her only one pair because of the price. A good place to buy Rainbow Sandals is on ebay if you are willing to wait 2 or 3 days to recieve them.

How are the Sandals Resorts in Jamaica?

Im going to Jamaica and I need to pick a Sandals in Negril, Dunns River, or Montego Bay.

Which ones do you think are the best? Most Friendly, Least Crowded?

Im cool with the whole cannabis culture down there so thats a plus to!

How are the Sandals Resorts in Jamaica?
I am going to Ocho Rios in April. I have heard though Negril is beautiful. I did hear that Montego Bay resort is near the airport so all you hear is planes flying over you. Not very romantic if you know what I mean.

Oh yeah...cannabis is illegal in Jamaica just to let you know.
Reply:All inclusves are busy. Alot of people but always something to do. As long as you leave the "compound" and explore the area and the island you will have a great trip. Mobay is right near the airport. Negril is a cool area, very laid back and more open minded cool vibes there. I think you would really like the south coast instead of all the big corporate hotels. Check our www.treasurebeach.net

This is the area we go.
Reply:We go to Sandals Negril every year and love it. Check out tripadvisor.com for peoples comments on the resorts. I think it will help you make a decision.
Reply:OK LET ME ASSIST YOU AGAIN WITH THAT...

1. THE SANDALS IN NEGRIL MAY BE CONSIDERED THE BEST OF ALL 3 BECAUSE OF IT'S LOCATION...IT IS SITUATED ON A 7 MILE BEACH STRETCH WITH AND HAS WONDERFUL ATTRACTIONS...THIS PART OF THE ISLAND IS ALSO WHERE THE MOST CANNIBIS IS GROWN..PEOPLE ARE GREAT AND WONDERFUL PROPERTY.

2. IN MONTEGO BAY THE BEST PROPERTY IS "ROYAL CARIBBEAN"....ALSO MONTEGO BAY STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY... THE NIGHT LIFE IN MONTEGO BAY IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST...AND IT HAS BEAUTIFUL BEACHES TOO....

3. OCHO RIOS IS ALSO NICE BUT, YOU WILL BE CONFINED TO YOUR PROPERTY AS IT TOUCHES EVENING, BECAUSE THERE IS NOT AS MUCH ATTRACTIONS (NIGHHT) IN THIS PART OF THE ISLAND FOR YOU TO DO...

SO MY CHOICES WOULD BE IN STRAGHT ORDER

1. SANDALS NEGRIL

2. SANDALS ROYAL CARIBBEAN (MONTEGO BAY)

3. SANDALS MONTEGO BAY (ANOTHER HOTEL)

4. SANDALS DUNNS RIVER.
Reply:I didn't go to Sandals because everyone was going there. I went to Montego Bay because it was close to the airport. Yes we heard the planes, but its not like we were in our hotel 24/7. There are plenty of activities in every surrounding. Enjoy

Reply:That type of sandals i truly don't like but if you want to buy it go to Jc penny
Reply:i think a simple name would be brown flip flops. a real confusing fashion zombie name would probably sound something like this:

1 "OMG like, don't u just heart my new brown solid summertime sandals?!?!"

2 "OMG they r SOOO aweysome. can we talk about boys now?

3 "lets talk about 5's hair"

2 "OMG how like TERRIBLE was it?"

1 " omg have you seen like 8's new guy? lah ooh ooh!"

4 "that's ooh lah lah like duh"

1 whatever u no I'm bad at math."

yeah something like that.

Have you ever stayed at a Sandals Resort? If so how was your experience? Would you recommend it ?

Hi. I am thinking about staying at the Sandals Grande or Regency Resort in St.Lucia for my honeymoon next June. I was just wondering if it really is as good as it sounds. Are there any hidden costs that they dont tell you about? Would you reccomend Sandals or not? Thank you for your time and advice!!

Have you ever stayed at a Sandals Resort? If so how was your experience? Would you recommend it ?
I Stayed at Montego Bay in Jamaica in December for my honeymoon, and it was great! There were no hidden costs, everything at the resort was included. Also there are no children allowed at the resorts, so it's all adults and lots of honeymooners when we were there.

There was lots to do all day, or you could do simply nothing, and just relax by the ocean. Each resort has a few restaurants to eat any meal at, or just get something to snack on. There were shows every night, including at our resort a toga party, fashion show, talent show, name that tune, as well as steel drum bands and local performers.

If it's not obvious, I would totally recommend staying at a Sandals resort. I loved not having to pay for anything, and not even think about money unless you go off the resort. Good luck and congrats!
Reply:My friend stayed at a sandals %26amp; enjoyed their stay as far as the resort goes. Their daughter left the resort one time though %26amp; got raped by locals. They said the "all-inclusive" thing was exactly as advertised, no hidden fees or anything. Good luck %26amp; be safe.
Reply:Sandals Properties are very popular.

Can i wear sandals to the airport?

you know how they make you take your shoes off at the airport, can i just take sandals? is that ok with them?

Can i wear sandals to the airport?
Of course! I suggest you wear sandals or flip-flops and bring a pair of socks in your carry-on in case it gets cold on your flight. That's what I do. Have a safe trip!
Reply:yes you can. it will be alot easier for you
Reply:By all means, they do make you take your shoes off anyway and it is summer so why not be comfortable.
Reply:Yep you can. Sometimes you wont even have to take them off. It all depends whos at that security gate.
Reply:Of course you can! You can wear whatever you want. I always wear sandals in the summer and they do make you take it off but seriously.. what can you stick in a sandal?
Reply:ya... they still make u take em off tho... lol

its fine.... it doesnt jhold up the line either...

happy travels

!
Reply:Make sure they don't have metal in them and wear socks at least through security.
Reply:Yes, it is fine to wear sandals in the air port. The reason it is not suggested on the air plane is because of safety issues. Shoes will protect you more I suppose, though I often wear sandals because I feel more comfortable regardless.
Reply:yes
Reply:Yes to sandals BUT not everywhere makes you take off your shoes. Last year I flew out off 5 different airports 2 made me remove my shoes one actually frisked me and my partner she was asked to open up the carry on for a secondary inspection.

Look nice, don't carry ANY metal like coins, watches, belt buckles, etc put them in the carry on and you should sail through the security.

BTW my partner asked the lady at security do underwire bras trigger the walk-through and the answer is sometimes, if it is a steel wire it may trigger. My knee brace with aluminum rods didn't
Reply:Yeah its fine but if you are walking around with luggage and with family or friends to keep up with sneakers my just be better even if you have to take them off during sercitity.........but whatever you are comfortable. I am going away soooooon but Im wearing sneakers for that reason and because of the air conditioned planes
Reply:I wore flip flops yesterday through LAX and Honolulu airports. A lot of people wear sandals, they are faster to take on and off, which you will still have to do.
Reply:You can wear sandals to the airport but the floors of the airport are slippery tat u cant walk comfortably with ur sandals. So in such case u can go for Airport friendly sandals. These sandals are specially engineered with fibre /nylon shanks tat wil not let the metal detectors produce any sound while u cross the airport guards. Apart from this feature....these sandals r stiff to withstand the severity of the path as well. For more information on airport friendly sandals better take a glance of http://shoecapital.com/
Reply:Yes you can wear sandals to the airport. They will still require you to remove them but I think it's less of a hassle than if you were to wear tennis shoes.
Reply:my mom wore flip flops to the air port but she was only going to the gate but she had to go thru security still and they didnt mind

Has anyone gotten married at a Sandals Resort?

We want to get married and have our honeymoon at a Sandals Resort. We have looked at "The White House" which is pretty cheap for 6 nights in mid June at about $3,111 however we are not sure where it is. Does anyone have a favorite Sandals resort? Are they typically a busy place?

Has anyone gotten married at a Sandals Resort?
Read this http://honeymoons.about.com/cs/allincgro...
Reply:I did not get married at a Sandals resort but we went to Sandals Royal Bahamian for our honeymoon. It is in Nassau, Bahamas. It's a beautiful resort with a private beach and a private island! They have tons of pools, hot tubs, and excellent service! You get free drinks and food your whole stay and the restaurants are very nice.

My hubby and I were laying on a hammock by the water and saw some couples get married. It is a very short ceremony with a dance afterwards. You can go just the two of you or invite friends and family. They also have an option of renting their private island to get married. I saw a wedding party leaving on the ferry to do that and it looked really nice.

The resort is incredibly romantic. If you tell them it's your honeymoon they will treat you extra special and we even had a private concierge upgrade! They also have an option to get dinner and drinks served to you in private by the water but it costs extra. I would not go after May because of hurricane season. Hope this helps! Congratulations on your engagement and best of luck to you!

P.S. I think the resorts are busier in March because of college spring breaks. It is an adults only resort so you don't have to deal with screaming kids! With all the stuff to do and how big the property is you are not usually fighting crowds.

Do you HATE when someone wears sandals or flip flops and never takes care of their toes?

My Co-worker has sandals on today and her toe nails are all crack and different lengths..... No polish... only clear on the big toes.... her feet are dry and cracking...

I am completely disgusted by this! Does this gross out anyone else?? Why would she wear sandals if her feet are in such terrible shape? If you can’t afford a manicure at least cut your toe nails to the same length!!

Do you HATE when someone wears sandals or flip flops and never takes care of their toes?
Yes sick, yuk. Did you know that some men are very attracted to the legs and feet of women. Just think she could be missing out on the love of her life because of it. I would say something to her. If she ever moans about not having a boyfriend, then tell her, "You know friend, if you got your toe nails done, it might make a difference. Yeah I know all the other people say "dont look if it upsets you" and junk like that, but you have to work with it. YUK!!! How can u help looking at it? If it doesnt bother them, then they prolly have ugly toes themselves. lol
Reply:Yea thats nasty enspecially when you have peoples or even her boyfriend who could atleast put lotion on her toes. Im the type that looks at a woman's feet and if I see them all busted up like she been kicking bricks and flour all day then I would think she is like that all over her body. Look here, I went to school for foot massuse tell your co-worker to holla at me and you will not see monster toes ever again. Business no pleasure.
Reply:yes hate it! %26amp; shes mean to sounds like she needs a good slap
Reply:Wouldn't bother me. I don't go around looking at people's feet. I'd rather look them in the face. I'd also like to say, that while she may not be a nice person, that's irrevelent to the question.
Reply:stuff like that doesnt bother me because if i notice that someone's feet are nasty i just dont look at them, its not like anyones forcing you to stare at her feet so why do you care?
Reply:ick !!!

I hate that too!!!
Reply:yes it is disgusting lol

im a totally with you on this!!

NASTY!!!!!!
Reply:that is disgusting to me too....
Reply:Quit looking at her feet.

Your head should be up anyway, showing confidence, not looking down.
Reply:i dont care about others ppl's feet lol.I care about mine
Reply:Yes it is disgusting! You think people would notice.
Reply:UGH- I hate it hate it HATE IT! lol Its so nasty. I just try not to look or focus on something else about them. I have no idea why people do that but hey- can't control what other people do. Some people have minds that are elsewhere on what they may think is more important or they just don't care who thinks or says what about them.
Reply:If it bothers you, then don't look at them.
Reply:Maybe she has a problem with her feet, like fungus, and is trying to keep them dry.
Reply:YES! BUGS ME SO SO SO SO SO SO bad. Right now I am one of them, and I find myself being self-consious over it. :) I need a pedi.
Reply:amen sister! That stuff is disgusting! I pedicure isn't that expensive! For god's sake you can do it youself!
Reply:first ew! but if i saw that on one of my coworkers i would rush them to my pedicurist before anyone else could see their hideous toes. shudder
Reply:that is gross one of the first things I look at on a woman are her feet because as it is a good indicator of how well she takes care of herself
Reply:doesn't bother me what they do with themselves as long as they are nice to me.
Reply:Yea that grosses me out. I would be embarrassed if I did that. It's not too hard to take care of your feet.
Reply:Yes it's annoying, but not terrible in my own opinion. It's only horrible if they have a foot fungus or yellowed toenails, in which case it is unacceptable.
Reply:sounds like you need a hobby or something better to do with your time and energy....do you get this fired up about any particular political issue? if so, re-channel your waste of time energy hating someone because of their FEET of all things and go get a volunteer job!
Reply:ya i understand. just dont look! thats what I do!
Reply:I don't hate it, but I wonder why the neglect?

Since their feet do not have to look like that.

When you where shoes that are open for your

feet and heels showing, rule of thumb should

be, do the world a favor and get a pedicure

whether that be in home or professional.

John 17:3
Reply:yes! I hate it!!! it is sooo nasty!
Reply:I can't stand it either....its their body and they should be able to take care of it and show off the good points...thats almost as abd as overweight women wearing too tight for them clothing.
Reply:It doesn't bother me at all.
Reply:yes its gross especially when you do nails for a living
Reply:well i don't appreciate it. some people are just too lazy to go get a manicure pedicure. i don't see why though. all you do is sit in the big massaging chair and read a magazine while the pamper you. maybe she has foot fungus or something...

Boots? or Dress Sandals?

I'm going to a wedding tonight %26amp; I can't decide which to wear. It is really cold where I live, but I don't know which is more appropriate to wear. Black high boots? or Dress sandals?

Boots? or Dress Sandals?
From a guy's perspective, I would recommend the sandals, or even nice shoes.

Boots, even really nice ones, seem inappropriate for a wedding. Wedding are not just dressy, they are usually an "elegantly dressy" occasions. You might feel under dressed with boots.

In my opinion, bringing the shoes or sandals with you and changing into them once you arrive is your best bet.
Reply:sandals if you are going to be inside most of the time
Reply:sorry honey, it's gotta be sandals... maybe try some closed toe shoe...
Reply:I would wear the boots. As long as their dressy, and you wear them with something classy then you will look fine. Sandals in the winter is not a good feeling. It should be about comfort in the end.
Reply:This is always a tough decision.... I usually tough it out and wear the dress sandals.
Reply:Change in the bathroom and then put the boots under your pu unless its outside or something. Otherwise, just ask the bride or groom, afterall it is THEIR wedding right?
Reply:depends on the sort of dress ur wearing (length %26amp;colour). if it is short %26amp; reches close to the knees, go for the boots they look really good. but if the dress is longer, go for the sandals.
